what is 1100 in military time?

If you've ever been in the military or are a fan of military movies, you know that the military uses a different system for telling time. Instead of using A.M. and P.M., they use "24-hour" time. This means that instead of counting hours as 1-12, they add 12 to each hour after noon and count up to 24 instead. This means that 1:00PM would be 13:00, and 5:00PM would be 17:00.

So, what is 1100 in military time? 1100 is 11:00AM (eleven o'clock) in standard time but 11:00 in military time. 11AM translates to "eleven hundred hours" or simply "eleven hundred." In short, 1100 is 11AM in the 24-hour system used by most armed forces today.

24-hour time can seem confusing at first but it does have some advantages over traditional 12-hour time when it comes to telling time in the military. For example, it eliminates any confusion over whether or not a certain time falls into morning or afternoon because everything is given on the same scale of 24 hours instead of two separate scales (like A.M. and P.M.). Additionally, it's easier to simply move forward with consistent 30 minute increments throughout the day rather than having to count forward twice each day with A.M and P.M., which might cause some confusion depending on where someone may be located geographically around the world at any given moment in relation to other local amplitudes worldwide).
